Myopia – often referred to as nearsightedness – is a common eye condition that occurs when the eye becomes too long and causes light rays to focus incorrectly, making distance vision blurry.
Often only the symptoms of myopia are treated. Leaving myopia unmanaged may contribute to eye health complications later in life including cataracts, glaucoma, and myopic maculopathy.
MiSight® 1 day contact lenses are the first and only soft contact lenses specifically designed for myopia control and FDA-approved to slow the progression of myopia in children, aged 8-12 at the initiation of treatment. They work by using ActivControl™ Technology which features a special design with alternating vision correction and treatment zones to improve blurred distance vision while simultaneously preventing myopia from getting worse.
Children learn to apply contact lenses quickly with 57% finding lens application easy by week one, improving to 85% by the first month.
The lenses should be worn for a minimum of 10 hours a day for best results.
MiSight® 1 day is indicated for initial fitting from 8-12 years of age. It is recommended to continue use until the eyes stop growing and the prescription stabilizes.
